You will stay at Tembo House Hotel equipped with a swimming pool among other amenities such as WiFi and television or Similar Hotel depending on availability.

Day 2

Stown Town and Countryside Tour (B/L/D) after breakfast, you will go on a guided tour of stone town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience tracing the footsteps of Arab Sultans on Zanzibar and ponder on the interesting historical sites and labyrinths. See actual Zanzibar doors famous for its unique architectural tradition. In the old times, the door was traditionally the first part of the house to be built and signifies the status of the owner; the wealthier and more respected the owner of the house is, the larger and meticulously carved the door front would be. The tour will end in the afternoon. After lunch, we will proceed to a tour of the countryside to the spice plantations. This place has a rich history and you will be welcomed by the rich aroma of spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. In the evening, we will head north of Zanzibar to Kendwa beach, a top favorite for its white sand, clear waters, and romantic sunsets. You will check-in at Sun Set Kendwa in the Cliffside Bungalow.

Day 3

Stay at Kendwa Beach (B/L/D) Kendwa beach is the perfect place to unwind with a good book and a glass of your favorite beverage. This is also a haven for underwater lovers as you can also enjoy a day of snorkeling or scuba diving. Indeed, a place to relax for all type of travelers.

Day 4

Kendwa Beach to Airport (B/L) On your last day, enjoy the rest of your stay by relaxing in the pool or in the beach while taking in as much sun shine as you can. Have a hefty breakfast and don’t forget to stroll along the white sands of Kendwa and to take photos for your loved ones. In the afternoon, we will take you to the airport for your onward destination.

Tembo House Hotel

Located on the seafront in what was once the American Consulate, Tembo House is ideally located for exploring historic Stone Town. It is also easy to find as it is not tucked away in the pedestrian alleys that spider the city. Though the road and the beach can be noisy, there are few places in Stone Town that are not; the town is all bustle and hubbub.

Accommodation at Tembo House Hotel

The hotel has 37 rooms of varying size and comfort. All rooms are en suite and most have balconies overlooking either the beach, or the hotel’s courtyard pool. The hotel is decorated and furnished in Swahili style with antique furniture and ornaments. This gives it a refreshing amount of character but does mean that some of the beds are either higher or shorter than the Western expectation. Rooms are well equipped by Tanzanian standards, each with air-conditioning, fridge, Satellite television and telephone. Some are quite small though it may be possible to organise a room change during less busy periods. The hotel also offers an internet café and Wifi access and, for an extra charge, a laundry service.

The hotel overlooks the town’s beach. This can be used for bathing in both sun and sea but is very public and not tranquil, nor as clean as many of Zanzibar’s beaches. It is better for catching a glimpse of Stone Town life over your hotel breakfast which is served in the beach side Restaurant. Besides which, the hotel has a well-maintained courtyard pool, far better for a relaxing swim after exploring hot and dusty Stone Town than the waves.
